when i visited home last night the first thing my mom asked me was whether or not i went to work dressed the way i was. she finds it hard to believe that anyone can go to work wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops. i guess it is kind of nice to have such a relaxed dress code at work. i think it must be the industry that i’m in that affords me this kind of casual attire. that’s good though, right?
i thought it was funny though. i guess she is used to my dad’s wardrobe of 20+ suits, so what i wear in comparison is quite different.
my work wardrobe varies depending on my mood. sometimes i will wear button down dress shirts and slacks, other times i’ll wear shorts and a t-shirt.
i used to work at a company where i would have to dress up more because i did a lot of meetings with potential clients and had to dress to impress. these days, i generally tend to wear more casual clothes because it’s more comfortable for me. i suppose it’s nice to have that kind of flexibility.
Do you ever get the itch to wear more business-like couture? These days I have to wear nicer clothes, so I relish the times when I can go out in my jeans.
