the ultimate love test

man, it’s guys like brandon that really give men in general a bad name. i can’t believe that he thinks that he did no wrong. i can’t believe that he can say the things that he did when they were blatant and obvious lies. brooke on the other hand is my favorite person there. she was upfront to kenesha who really needed to hear that her man has a cheating heart.

roy, the thai doctor who seems to be the dreamy man, is still sketchy. i don’t know, i don’t condone his behavior. going after a girl who is in a relationship is just all sorts of wrong.

after watching this show it sort of makes me realize some of the things that i am looking for in a relationship and some of the things that i definitely need to avoid. i think that i really need to date someone who has the same type of goals as i do. we can’t have interests that directly conflict with each other. but most of all, i think it has really reaffirmed my belief that i really need to be head over heels in love with the person. i cannot imagine ever daring to put myself through this kind of love test. it would be too much for me to bear.

to see someone else kiss my girlfriend? to see someone else lick jello shots off my girlfriend in a seductive way? to see someone else holding my girlfriend? all in the name of a test to see if OUR relationship is ok? no thank you.

veronica, part 2

i was talking to adam last night and i had mentioned something about veronica. he then asked me for clarification of why i said that i wasn’t used to the space that veronica has and then i told him that veronica is my new ipod.

he chastised me anthropomorphizing my ipod because he thought she was a real person. just for the record…she IS a real person. ah, my lovely veronica. still in her pristine glory…all 20GB of her.

netflix surveys

i went to the netflix campus yesterday to participate in survey. netflix had contacted me, seemingly randomly to participate in a discussion about some new features that they will be adding. at first i was pretty caught up in it until i realized that not too many of my friends actually use netflix, so the value added to their service doesn’t really help me unless i get to know more people who use netflix.

the feature that they are adding is this friends tab to the site. basically what it will do is enable you to see what your friends thought of movies as well as recommend movies to your friends. it’s sort of nice to differentiate your friend’s opinions with just the general netflix population.

i remember a while ago my mom and i were having a conversation about happiness. she had told me that a lot of people believe that money is the key to happiness. she told me that a lot of people thought that if you had a lot of money, then you can have all the the things in the world that could make you happy.

and though veronica does make me happy, even if i were without her, i think that i could be just as happy. but the one thing that my mom said to me which i found rather striking was that the lack of money is a source of unhappiness. she told me that it isn’t so much about having so much money that you don’t know what to do with it as much as it is about having enough money to have all your basic needs cared for.

she then went on a tirade about how spoiled i am because i’ve found work that pays for more than the bare essentials. she reminds me of how i grew up and the things we did to make ends meet. she asked me if i remembered those times and she asked me if things were different, would i still be the same way that i was now.

all too often people are obsessed with the pursuit of happiness in the form of money. they think that if they have all the money in the world they wouldn’t have any problems. it’s been something that i’ve been thinking about lately. if i had a choice between being happy or being rich, which would i choose?

one of the nice things about being rich is that it gives you the freedom to do whatever it is that you want. see the world, go on adventures, get new things…all sounds pretty attractive. but if you weren’t rich, but you were happy what kind of life would you lead? i think that a happy life is one that isn’t necessarily full of lavish belongings or extravagant vacations…it’s something that at the end of the day you look at how the day progressed and you feel yourself smile.

i think that’s ultimately what i want. i want to feel myself smile…that isn’t to be confused by the actual act of smiling, but the warmth that rushes all over your body as happiness consumes you. i’ve felt a few moments of bliss and i have to say that it is because of those moments that i have staved off any sense of deep jadedness in me.

maybe it’s the romantic in me that chooses love over money. maybe i just can’t get myself to fully live in the practical world. whatever the case may be, i think that i’m rather happy just the way i am and i don’t think that i would change how i think.

The world is no longer a romantic place, some of its people still are however, and therein lies the promise.

i’m not sure if i should be frightened that i went to watch bring it on with some friends who enjoyed it as much as i did OR that i’m going to go watch bring it on with them again tonight.

OR should i be frightened that they made the cheerleading outfits modeled after the movie’s cheerleader outfits for us to wear while watching the movie?

should i be frightened?

…or profoundly happy?

i’m not sure.

veronica is coming! veronica is coming! at long last she and i will be united! i’ve been pining over her for quite some time now. i think the love affair probably started online some time ago and since then we’ve developed a rather close and personal connection. it’s as if i’ve known her for my whole life.

cute, sexy, and stylish, there’s nothing that veronica can’t do. she just makes peace with all that’s around her.

and it looks like she’ll be arriving today. ahh, my ever so beautiful love, veronica.
