epinions

from time to time i will log on to epinions to look up reviews on various projects. i used to get really gung ho about this site and i used to add as many reviews about as many things as i could.

well, i’m back at it again and i’ve written two reviews. one on the canon 50mm f/1.8 lens and another on the bogen grip action ballhead.

oddly enough, my most popular review is not about electronics or photography at all. instead it is about biore nose strips. go figure.

new lens on the way

i just did a little xmas shopping for myself. i’ve been debating what lens i ought to get next and it has been a rather difficult and painful process. difficult because there are so many choices and painful because, well…i should really only choose one lens.

i finally opted for the canon 15mm f/2.8 fisheye lens. i’ve been borrowing it from a friend and i really do enjoy the lens. i was immediately impressed when i picked it up and i think that it can become rather useful. we’ll see what happens when it gets here.

must have been busy

i must have been busy to have not blogged in such a long time. i haven’t really been doing too much except being bombarded at work and then trying to squeeze some time for a little rest and relaxation. i haven’t even been playing the xbox!

so what have i been up to? well, i finally got around to processing the pictures from the food shoot the other day. it’s been a while and there were a lot of photos to handle. but it’s done wth and i’m glad that i’m done. quite the time sink.

part of the reason why i haven’t been blogging is probably because my laptop’s been out of comission for a bit. i’ve been trying to get it back up to speed. i decided to reformat the laptop for a variety of reasons and i’ve been slowly installing the applications back on the laptop. i had forgotten how much work it was to get it to this point. the other thing is that i’ve been trying to go down a freeware/open source route for all of the applications that i use. it’s been a challenge to find some good apps, but i’ve found a few gems too.

oh, and i hate spyware/adware. hate it, hate it, hate it. i hate developers who employ ad ware or spyware to release stuff as freeware too. it isn’t free if you have to pay with spyware!
