i don’t want to wait

after talking to my good friend jenny about dawson’s creek and debating whether dawson or pacey was the better boyfriend for joey, i got this wave of nostalgia sweep over me and so i promptly went to netflix and reordered my queue so that the next set of DVDs i get are the complete set of dawson’s creek DVDs seasons 1-4. i figure it should only take me about 3 or 4 weeks to get the series from them….man…3 DVDs at a time. that’s so slow! i’m tempted to go join blockbuster’s freedom pass for movie rentals to get it all in one shot, but i think i may be dawson’d out if i do so.

ahhh, to have the friends back in my life again…dawson…joey…andie, oh we cannot forget about andie.

I don’t want to wait
For our lives to be over
I want to know right now
What will it be?
I don’t want to wait
For our lives to be over
Will it be yes or will it be sorry?

  1. No, no, no!! I’m glad gg is with me on this. =) The wall… so sweet that the thought still makes me sigh.

You might be right that Pacey in his simplest being wasn’t good enough for Joey, but he tried so hard to be the best he could be, because he loved her. Joey brought that out in him. I don’t think love is just a feeling, it’s a force.. a power which moves people. That’s what Joey and Pacey share.

I don’t believe that Dawson was good enough for her either though. I have not heard any good reason why they should be together other than the fact that wilco thinks so. *chuckle*

  2. there is no question that pacey better understood joey. it’s true, sure, he bought her a wall. it’s true, sure, that he *gets* her.

but what you aren’t remembering is that pacey isn’t good enough for her. pacey never thought so. he always had to do all these things for joey so that he’d feel like he was worthy of her, but he never really was. sure, dawson wasn’t as romantic, and sure, maybe dawson didn’t do all the things pacey did, but there is one thing you cannot deny: dawson and joey were meant to be together.

they were two spirits destined to be boud together. they had a deeper understanding between them. they always had this magical connection that pacey could never have. pacey is who joey settled for, dawson is who joey was meant to be with.

  3. i agree with jenny. dude, pacey bought joey *a wall*! how many guys would do that for someone who he didn’t believe in or didn’t understand and love from the depths of his soul? 🙂

  4. What do you mean? What are you trying to say?

I think Dawson, being Joey’s supposed “soul mate” means he understands her well, but I think that Pacey understands what Joey needs and that may very well be what it takes.

  5. if you listen to the words of the theme song, you’ll note that the question is asked: Will it be yes or will it be sorry?

    apparently, the writers choose “sorry”.

  6. If Dawson and Joey were meant for each other, then why did the series end with Pacey and Joey together?? I think there is a message there. Right? Right??

I vote for Pacey too!!! Look at the way that he loved Joey… Awww… it just makes my heart melt.

  7. pacey seems to be the favorite for everyone. i don’t get it…i mean, dawson and joey were MEANT FOR EACH OTHER. they really were.

you know it. i know it. everyone knows it. but for some strange reason, everyone says that pacey was the better boyfriend. i just don’t get it.

  8. haha…. oh, one of my favorite topics! i totally miss dawson’s creek. seasons 1-4 were the best. the joey-dawson-pacey triangle was classic. ahh… memories. *sniffle* (btw, my vote was for pacey!!!)
