ATMs

i am really disappointed that the closest ATM to work is nearly 5 miles away. it used to be that i would walk over to the ATM during my lunch hour and i’d do my banking then. now i have to make a separate trip to the bank or drive all the way over to the nearest bank to get money.

this makes my banking feel much more like a chore than anything else. i wonder if this will change my spending habits. i generally like to buy my lunches with cash and dinners with credit cards. i wonder if i will end up using a credit card more now that it is less convenient to get to a bank.

…or i could just go to the bank that is right next door to my home.

north country

i watched north country last night. i really thought that i would really like this movie and i really wanted to. charlize theron, a seemingly good story, and best of all you knew there was a happy ending…all key ingredients to a good movie.

i’ve decided that i really don’t like movies where charlize just doesn’t look good. sure, those are the roles that she may be getting awards for, but for some reason i just haven’t really enjoyed those movies. it’s actually frightening that i kind of wonder if my taste in movies has really shifted to be more shallow. is all that i’m looking for just some shallow eye candy?

news of the weird

i heard about this story on the radio on the way to work. what would possess a man to fight a deer that has broken into your home and kill it with his bare hands, i have no idea. but to have blood splattered all over the walls of the house and to fight for 40 minutes with this deer is just crazy.

of course, i guess it only makes sense that the man would want to process the deer for its meat afterwards. after all, he worked 40 minutes to get his meal the way he wanted it…

related

i tried watching related last night, but i don’t see what all the hubbub is about. it didn’t seem very interesting and actually, there were parts that were just downright annoying. i don’t know if i can give the show another opportunity, i feel like i really should give it another try, but really, it was rather unsufferable.

steak and pizza

it’s no secret that i love steak. the kind of love affair i have with steak is really hard to describe. i used to eat more steak than chicken, pork, or turkey combined at one point in my life.

i also love pizza. i cannot get tired of eating pizza. i think that i’ve eaten pizza now two days in a row and i’m considering eating pizza again for dinner tomorrow. why i never get tired of pizza, i’m not sure.

but there is one thing that i am adamant about when it comes to my favorite foods. i do not like steak on pizza. that is simply wrong. it is hard to imagine that those two foods would be something that i would be opposed to try in combination, but really, i find that philosophically wrong.

i think i don’t like the idea because it cheapens steak which has always been such a grand meal. it should be celebrated, not bastardized into some topping.

i just ate pizza for lunch. i kinda want steak for dinner now. =P
