taco bell, revisited

i went to taco bell for lunch.

i ordered the meximelt, the 1/2lb. beef and potato burrito, and the spicy chicken burrito. i ate them in that order, too. it was DE-LI-CI-OUS! the meximelt was pretty good, it tasted like a cheesy taco sans lettuce. definitely not a meal by itself and probably too rich to eat 3 or 4 of those by themselves, but still very tasty. the problem with them is that they are pricy for what they are. at over $1, i don’t know if it’s a good value…but i may have to get a few more to really decide that for sure.

the beef and potato burrito was good, but it was the spicy chicken burrito that really made my meal complete. absolutely delicious, i may get two of those next time.

at under $5 for my meal, taco bell today did not disappoint.

now, the question is, has this started a taco bell kick for me? i hope not, but man, it sure was tasty.

  1. congrats! i like the spicy chicken burrito too. the best thing is that they don’t put beans in them. beans would make them nasty. yes, the meximelt is pricey (especially when compared to the $1.29 spicy chicken burrito), but they’re so full of cheesy goodness.

no sauce? i use at least two packets of fire sauce with each taco bell item.

  2. when the grilled stuft burritos first came out that was all that i ordered. those are pretty tasty too. lunch was good, and i really do want to go again, but i know that for my health’s sake, i probably should limit my taco bell intake. =P

i usually use 1.5 packets of sauce with my taco bell items. i find that 2 packets is too much.

  3. man, after reading this I am craving

    nachos supreme
    chicken quesadilla
    two beef gorditas
spicy chicken burrito (minus that sauce they put in – i like it plain)

but that is like more than a full days of calories for me ๐Ÿ™

oh, and you’re not a real man unless you can handle a minimum of 2 fire sauce packets! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. i had taco bell again last night. i came back from the stanford/ucla game, and i was ready to go up to bed at 11pm, but i was hungry. (all i had for dinner was a hot dog.) so i went out and got a meximelt and a spicy chicken burrito.

honestly, though, i find taco bell gross when i’m not hungry. i think about it, and it doesn’t sound good. but when i’m hungry, though, it is the best stuff out there. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. CRAP, now *I* want Taco Bell. I used to get a 7-Layer Burrito in the middle of campus and munch on it on the walk to class, and finish it just before entering the building. Since then, new favorites have been the Chicken Quesadilla (altho Del Taco’s Spicy Jack Chicken Quesadilla is better) and the Spicy Chicken Burrito.
But now I’ve sworn off fast food and have abstained for almost 2 years! What do I do?

  6. i didn’t want to, but i had taco bell again for lunch today. it wasn’t nearly as good as it was the first time. in fact, i think that i’m over my taco bell cravings completely.
