Floatbox License Terms

Floatbox is protected by copyright and is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Unported License.

License keys are available for the Floatbox software. Without a license key present, the software will periodically display a registration reminder during use.

Registration and purchase of a license key for a commercial web-site's domain constitutes permission to use the software on that registered domain. Commercial web-site owners and developers are hereby granted permission to use Floatbox without limit or restriction, and without acquisition of a license key, on all non-production instances (development, test, etc.) of their web-sites.

Owners and developers of non-commercial web-sites that pertain to or are associated with a group, club, or organization (i.e., not an individual) do not need permission to use the software on their sites under the license terms. However, a license key will need to be purchased in order to supress the periodic registration reminders.

Free Floatbox license keys are available by request for personal web-sites such as hobby sites, family photos, travelogues, etc. A free license key will be issued for such a site only if the site is not associated with a group, club or organization, is not associated with and does not promote commercial or professional activities, and is authored by the site owner.

The Floatbox software cannot be redistributed in a commercial product or offering without the prior agreement of the Floatbox publisher and copyright holder. Any such re-distribution will need to keep the Floatbox software package complete and unmodified, will need to make the license terms clear to the recipients of the software, and is to be done with the understanding that license keys will need to be acquired for each of the target environments, whether online or executing locally.

License keys will remain operative and effective for all future versions of the Floatbox software. Acquisition of a license key entitles you to lifetime free upgrades as new versions are released. The Floatbox software may not be disassembled, reverse engineered, nor, with the exception of setting preferences as outlined in the Floatbox instructions, have its operation modified in any manner. Floatbox is provided as-is without warranty as to functionality, compatability, or suitability for your purposes. The onus is on the Floatbox software user to investigate, test, confirm functionality and suitability, and to assume any and all risks associated with use of the software.
