[url=http://www.phamily.org]paul[/url] and i went to the oakland city center and ate at top dog. it was pretty good, it brought back memories of my berkeley days. i used to eat there and la burrita a lot. mmmm, la burrita. it’s kind of a long walk over there, but it was nice to get out for a bit, enjoy the nice weather we’re having, and have lunch.
you know that’s the thing about lunch. it’s time away from the daily grind…just a little bit of sanity in my day goes a long way.
while on the drive home from work, i decided to make use of the camera that i brought with me. nothing terribly exciting, but i saw some pictures on the web earlier that inspired me to do some more abstract picture taking. i wish i brought the real camera along though so i could do some more macro work. perhaps i will bring it with me tomorrow…
at my destination, i got myself set up, pearl tea in hand, and laptop at my fingertips. and they happened to be showing the britney spears las vegas show on the tv. wireless internet, britney spears, and pearl teal…man, this place was MADE for me!

it might seem a little excessive, but i actually do use all three monitors when i am doing serious work. kind of crazy, but i guess that’s just the industry that i’m in. along with that is my laptop because, you know, sometimes you just need more than one computer…
i tend to work in the dark too, i’m a bit of a night owl, though lately my schedule has required me to sleep early and wake up late.
so i finally got my new cell phone over the weekend. i’m not sure if i really mentioned it to anyone, but my old phone was dying on me. the LCD was cracked and over the weekend it started to develop this rather annoying habit of shutting itself off. quite nice, indeed. so i activated the new phone that i got, and though i’m not crazy about the phone, it is smaller, thinner, and lighter than my old phone so i guess that’s a good thing. putting in phone numbers is a big pain, though, so i stopped entering them after maybe putting in about 15 numbers. hopefully people will just start calling me to catch up or something. that would be nice. (hint, hint) =P
one of the things that i’m particularly unhappy about this phone is that it has no external display so you can see who is calling you. i think this means that i’m going to have to make use of the distinctive ringing and train myself to recognize who is who. i’m also trying to figure out how to get images onto the phone since it also has picture caller id on it.
but it is nice to have a reliable phone again. i must say that carrying around that old phone was beginning to get a little tiresome.
the other day cathy and i went to oakridge to get some q-pop chicken at q-cup…the first ever that she’s had! as soon as i found out the great injustice that she’s never had such a delight before, we agreed that we would have to immediately rectify the situation. ahh, such joy.
i was hanging out with my sister the other day and she mentioned that she saw us at oakridge. i asked her why she didn’t say something and she said that she was embarassed because she had just gotten a facial and didn’t want to meet anyone in her “condition.”

instead of the usual poker night, we played dominoes last night. it was pretty fun and a nice change of pace. the hot summer nights are still beating down on us and we had to have a fan nearby to keep us cool.
i guess i’ve been a little bit of a slacker as i’ve not posted any pictures for a while. i have a bunch that i should post, i just haven’t gotten around to the actual processing. oh well.
