i went to the escape from alcatraz triathlon over the weekend. it was amazing to see all the people make the treacherous swim from the rock to shore and then bike and then run. who signs up for this kind of madness? =P
it was really cool to see, though. i remembered adam’s blog about panning cyclists, so i decided to do some experimentation with panning. it’s actually not nearly as hard as i thought it would be and the results are stellar. the pictures are so much more compelling. i thought that you would need a much longer shutter speed than what i shot with. i think that i could have a little bit more blur, but it was fun to try out. panning is your friend!
mimi was in town and so christi and i joined her on a trip to the wine country. we checked out some vineyards and even got to see what little baby grapes look like. they don’t look very good. =P
i went to atlanta a few months ago and i haven’t been able to post pictures due to web servers issues for a while now. but finally, i’ve gotten off my butt and written an image gallery. there’s still quite a bit of work to do, but it’s a start.
i didn’t think that it would have happened so quickly. maybe i had been delaying it, hoping that if i could somehow wait it out, it would have been better. but it has felt like forever, but now i am part of the club.
the FF club, that is. i haven’t really had an opportunity to really see what it means to be part of this oh-so-exclusive club, but i’m excited at what this means. will it be all that i had dreamed it up to be? will it be better? who knows?
but indeed, i have made my entrance into the FF club with the canon 5D.
i know it’s a little late, but the company had a halloween party. costumes were encouraged. people were also encouraged to bring in their carved pumpkins. only one person did and he won a $25 gift certificate, be default. dammit, i’m going to carve a pumpkin next year!
there was way too much food and some interesting costumes that were brought in this year. kind of fun to have a little holiday cheer at the company.
the COOLEST part of the party was the punch that the HR girl brought in. she put in food grade dry ice in the punch and it was smoking cold! that was awesome.
i don’t usually talk too much about work, but the other day i had to carry around the test bed of mobile devices that we have. i do development for a mobile device service company and so we have to have a lot of mobile devices… let me tell ya, this test bag is heavy!
