i’m sitting here on a saturday morning finally with a moment to think. this last week has been so busy that i haven’t had much of a chance to do anything. this last week i attended the mysql users conference in santa clara. it was actually pretty interesting and i can’t wait to try out some of the things that i learned there.

i got keys to the new apartment earlier this week and i’ve been trying to prepare for the move, but it’s been slow going. for the last few weeks i’ve been slowly packing up the apartment for the big move. this weekend is the last weekend i have to move into my new place. i hired chinese movers to help me out with this big task. with all of the horror stories that i had heard of about bandit movers and hijacking my stuff, i was a little worried about how the move would go. it turned out that the movers were really nice and good and i had everything moved out of my old place and into the new place in record time.

so here i am now, at the new place, much more central to…well, pretty much everything else now. i have boxes surrounding me and the first order of business was to get the internet access working…and it is, sort of. i have a broken jack in the unit, so i need to get that fixed before things are finally done. but i can still browse the web…slowly.

i have the TV set up and i’m just getting ready to start lining all the shelves and start packing away all of the things that can go into the shelves. it looks like there’s still quite a bit of work to do. i think that i still have some stuff left at the old apartment so i need to go over there and start unpacking the rest of that out. looks like it’s going to be a long weekend.
