the dream continues! i’m slowly working towards a tv in every room and then i read this article about someone installing a tv in their garage so that they can watch tv while they are, you know, fixing stuff in the garage! how crazy is that??
yeah, i’m gonna go to the garage to saw some wood while i watch tv. brilliant, i tell you. just brilliant. i’m not going to be that crazy, but it’s nice to dream.
some people have clothes, other people have music. me? apparently, i’m gonna have TVs, DVD players, and other media devices.
the biggest thing that i’m struggling with right now is whether or not i should get yet another media device for the home office. i think that i’m going to register for it.
my dream would be to have single content source (optical media, cable/telco for TV, movies, audio) able to be distributed over an IP network at home to any display or mobile device. it seems silly to me to have multiple source devices (ie > 1 DVD player or DVR ) for each display device.
and wow, a TV in every room? if this includes the bathroom, maybe you are not eating enough fiber!
Previous owner of our house had cable run into the garage. When I mentioned how odd I found that, Gwen said that “a lot of men see the garage as ‘their room’ in the house, so TV’s are common, there.” See, Gwen knows more about men than we do….
it actually would not be that difficult for me to run cable into the garage. unfortunately, the garage is pretty small, so when we have both cars in it, there’s no space left for a tv…unless i get a flat screen tv, there is ALWAYS room for a flat screen…but there’s still no space for me to sit to watch it…
Oh, there’d SO be space in your garage to watch a flatscreen TV. You can sit in your car! You can even recline the seats. You can roll down the windows, or, have A/C. But please be sure to have the garage properly ventillated before you turn on your car to pump A/C. I lost a niece to this. (Seriously.) And imagine, you can bring Christi into the car to watch TV together! It’d be like an old-school drive-in theatre! You can have popcorn and soda in the cupholders! And you can “neck”! How freaking romantic is that?
