And now I’m all alone again
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to
Without a home, without a friend
Without a face to say hello to
And now the night is near
Now I can make believe he’s here
Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping
I think of him and I’m happy
With the company I’m keeping
The city goes to bed
And I can live inside my head
On my own
Pretending he’s beside me
All alone
I walk with him till morning
Without him
I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me
In the rain the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever
And I know it’s only in my mind
That I’m talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say, there’s a way for us
I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone
The river’s just a river
Without him
The world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers
I love him
But every day I’m learning
All my life
I’ve only been pretending
Without me
His world would go on turning
A world that’s full of happiness
That I have never known
I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own
i think it’s true. i think that pacey could have been worthy of joey, but the thing is that he never really felt he was. and i think that’s the crux of the problem. sure he is sweet and charming, but he just tries too hard to prove that he’s worthy and doesn’t spend enough time just enjoying what he’s got.
i don’t think that i can ever believe that joey would have been happy with pacey. now, i don’t know if she could have been happy with dawson, but i find that that would have been a happier ending. the guy gets the girl. that’s the way it’s supposed to be. ross got rachel. angel got buffy. (well, until he experience that moment of pure happiness) clark got lois.
oh gawd! don’t even get me started with smallville’s clark and lana. they TOTALLY should be together too.
*sigh*
but the thing is, pacey isn’t a loser. he becomes good at everything he tries, e.g. stock brockering, cooking. i think pacey just underestimates himself a bit. 🙂
i still don’t understand the whole pacey/joey obsession. sure, after rewatching the first season, dawson does come off as a little too much of a whiner, but pacey is just ALL OVER THE PLACE. he’s a terminal loser who just can’t get over himself.
haha! i know why you posted that! :p
i recommend fast forwarding to season 3. Hehe. =)
