finally transferring over to godaddy.com

my domain registrar used to be directnic.com. they were great at the time because their pricing was pretty competitive, but over the years, big registrars like godaddy.com have come and their pricing is hard to beat. i have finally used up the last of my credit at directnic, so i’m moving my domains over to godaddy. so far the process has been pretty painless, but i’m just waiting for directnic to relinquish control of the domains and move it over. i haven’t had to talk to anyone yet, the process seems pretty well managed online.

let’s see how long it takes to transfer over.

  1. We’re sorry to see you go. You might get a call from Priscilla. If you would still like to stay with DN, give us a call. We can work some better pricing, which wasn’t an option a year ago.

    Thanks,
    Michael

  2. the one thing that i have always, always been happy with at directnic is the level of service. customer support is great and i have never had any issues with directnic. i think that they are a great company and their service is wonderful as is evidenced by a blog comment! (thanks, michael, you guys do great work) the web interface is by far much easier to use, too.

the pricing makes a big difference though, but i’m going to give the folks at directnic a call, talk about my situation and see if something can be worked out.

  3. Since you are bringing up go daddy, I’ll also provide a few recent findings for Godaddy promo codes. I am a C Programmer, and these promo codes come in very handy when purchasing or renewing an internet domain name. Use Godaddy promo code ZINE3 for $7.49 .com domains and renewals. I save about $20 every time I purchase from godaddy.com. When I buy at least 5 domain names, I also get free private registration when I use ZINE3. For other Godaddy coupons, use ZINE1 for 10% off, ZINE2 for $5 off any $30+ purchase, and ZINE25 for $25 off any purchase of $100 or greater, like hosting plans. These promo codes are current, working, and do not expire. Hope these Godaddy coupons save as much loot for the other viewers as they have for my web site projects. Have a good day!

  5. Cool. Promo codes

    Godaddy.com $0.99 + ICANN $0.18 = $1.17 ( new register )
    Coupon Code: BUYCOM99

Godaddy.com 6.99 new .com domain, but doesn’t work for renewals.
    Coupon Code: goaz006p

  6. Hope there weren’t any health related domains among those you’ve transferred year ago? Things have changed, and now Godaddy isn’t reliable registrar for this type of domains, because they suspend them, and later ask $75 for unsuspending & option to transfer to another registrar. So I’m transferring to DirectNic some, even price isn’t so important like safety…
