is it rude to ask someone for a ride and then while they are driving you to the destination to whip out your cell phone and start calling people and talking to them?

in general, i thinking talking on the phone in a drawn out chitty chatty conversation while you’re in the company of other people is rude. you could walk away from the group or person and talk but if it’s long then it’s rude. if you’re just calling to check in a meet time or something then i guess it may be more acceptable.
totally rude! even if someone calls, the rider should call back later and use the time on the ride to thank the person for the lift and make conversation.
yes it is rude…at least have the courtesy to entertain the driver with a nice conversation while they’re giving you a free ride home. if people call you…that one thing. but it’s an entirely different matter when you have to call out to talk rather than conversing with the person right next to you.
