i was walking around oakland the other day running some errands and i had my camera with me. downtown oakland is under constant construction. why is it that oakland always seems dingy and dirty?
still, i do love working there.
the first picture was a random picture. i don’t like it, but someone once told me that you have to take pictures that you don’t like so that you’ll know better what pictures you really like.
the second picture is of some constructin vehicle. apparently they fill the tires with foam, not air. how bizarre.
the third picture is of the fountain in the plaza in chinatown. it’s an interesting fountain that’s right next to the sweet booth.
a photographer once told me that it’s not what you take a picture of, it’s how you take the picture. making a beautiful image of something boring and mundane takes a lot of tact and skills. I enjoyed your photos… I need to suck it up and buy a D-SLR. So expensive!
thanks. if i had a choice, i would love to take pictures of beautiful, exciting things instead of the boring and mundane. still, it’s always fun and entertaining to try and make whatever you are taking a picture of interesting.
DSLRs are getting really cheap! it’s hard not to get them now.
actually, the foam in the tires is to help weigh down the tractor to give it more stability, and lower the center of gravity.
